I don't know if any of you currently on Facebook have noticed that there are a lot of nasty people cracking out on others. Yes, I know cracking out isn't exactly PC... But that is what it seems like is going on. They are totally flipping their shit and going all kinds of nuts. A couple of my friends and fellow authors have been targeted by a certain group of bloggers and blog groups. This isn't a game. Words whether in person or on a screen HURT. When people go out of their way to mess with your book it HURTS. Because as an author you put so much of yourself into it. These are playground games that people are playing. Hurtful and hateful games that need to end. I know that there is always going to be drama. People get bored and cause it just to have something to do. But when it gets this out of hand it needs to be stopped. I just wish I knew how. There isn't anything I can personally do but voice my opinion. I hate that people are thinking of taking down their books and pages due to harassment.
If it was me I would shave my head and pull a Britney and use the publicity and attention to draw more attention to my books. ;) But not everyone is like me. I can take it and turn it around. Some people just get hurt. I feel for those people.
Indie Authors Against Bullying is a worthy cause so if you catch sight anything nasty...Please report it.
